How do we play Phonics Charades?

If you’ve never played Charades before, there is an easy to follow teacher guide included in your download. Here’s how you play:

 

1. Choose the game slide that best fits your students. Choose from options with or without picture supports.

 

2. One student picks a word card or chooses a word from the board. They silently act out the word as others watch.

 

3. Other students raise their hands to guess the word. When someone guesses correctly, everyone traces and writes it on their recording sheet.

Are these all CVC words?

The majority of words have a CVC pattern. The word family games may include a few words with beginning consonant blends or digraphs. This is a great way to challenge your students!

Do I need to be tech savvy?

Not at all. Just project and click through the slideshow.

Can I play this game in Google?

You may upload the PowerPoint slides into Google Slides.

Can I change the words or pictures?

No. To protect the clipart used in this game, you can not alter the background images on the slides.
