Will this project work well for all my students?
YES! This poetry project can be adjusted for your students.
For students just learning about poetry, the color words poem is a great fit.
You could do shared writing to write a class poem and then let students create their own rainbows to decorate around the poem
For other students, the acrostic poems will give them a framework for writing.
Students choose their own title or you can assign a poem title.
Students can write one word lines or write lines with multiple words.
With guidance and support from adults, respond to questions and suggestions from peers and add details to strengthen writing as needed.
